Biography

Jackie is a painter and teacher of painting and ceramics. She became aware of the tradition of Cornish painting as a student at the Penzance School of Art, going on to study at the Bath Academy of Art at Corsham from 1960 to 1963, under the painters Henry Cliffe, Howard Hodgkin and Robyn Denny, as well as ceramics with James Tower. Her subject matter includes not only forms derived from landscape, but also atmospherics, and have led to extensive experiments with colour in an attempt to bring these experiences into sharp focus. She has exhibited at the Belgrave Gallery, St.Ives (2006-2007) and is an associate member of the Penwith Society. Her work is in a number of private collections.
